Stunning. How come my night sky just tends to be black with tiny speckles dotted all over it?

Could be that your exposure is not bright enough, or you could be out at the wrong time or facing in the wrong direction. Post production is very important for astro images too, especially if your camera gear isn't the best suited. Check out Lonely Speck. site

If you want to capture something like this there is no need for a dedicated astrophotography camera. I shot this with a stock Canon R6 and Sigma 14mm 1.8.
