Dr. Michael Krax at SRECon 2021. Two specific frames are chosen to look at systems reliability engineering. 1) Power and how it influences human behavior—in a network organization like most modern software engineering companies change can only happen in a very specific way. 2) Applied Lumans theory re: complexity to our technical practices of system design and debugging.

Politics is, roughly speaking, the interactions debates and struggles about how we are sharing common goods or how we live together as a community.

Political science basically starts after World War II in an attempt to understand how to avoid wars or at least large-scale international conflicts and to understand why societies selected fascist leaders.

I just described the constructivist turn as an understanding that actions do matter because they create structures. They reproduce institutions or systems.

This is very similar to the concept of autopoiesis. That is a modern combination of two greek words: literally self-making.

It is used to describe a system that can reproduce itself by creating elements needed for its survival.
